When driving up the Road to the
Sun I came upon an area that is called Avalanche. The maps
said there are some hikes starting in this area. One of the
main hikes is up to a place called Avalanche Lake. The stream and trees leaning out over the stream on the left were quite early in the hike. As I got further I saw another tree leaning out over the stream. |

| The trail largely followed the
stream up to the lake, but not completely. At one point in the walk the stream had formed somewhat of a gorge through the rock. |

| Finally, I reached the lake. There were quite a few runoff flows from the mountains down into the lake along the surrounding mountain walls. | ||

| The clouds started to move in even
more while I was there. |
